Solar installers

Take a homeowner from curious to switched on, with every stage visible.

Going solar is a long path: estimate, proposal, site survey, permits, utility approval, install and permission to operate. We give homeowners a clear starting estimate and a status tracker, and keep your pipeline, permits, equipment and crews organized behind it.

What we set up

A first estimate from an address

A homeowner enters an address and a rough monthly bill, and sees a preliminary system size and layout idea based on their inputs. It is a starting point, not a quote, and the assistant makes no promises about savings, payback or incentives, which it leaves to the customer's tax advisor.

Proposals, financing options and a status tracker

Proposals show equipment choices side by side, with financing options handed to your own lenders for their disclosures and decisions. After signing, a tracker shows where the project stands: survey, design, permit, utility, install and inspection.

The back office behind every install

Leads, site surveys, designs, permits, utility interconnection, HOA approvals, equipment orders and lead times, crew scheduling, inspections and permission to operate sit on one board. Service tickets and warranty records pick up where the install leaves off.

Where this business gets hard

Long, stage-by-stage projects

From signature to switch-on can take a long time and many parties are involved. A tracker that shows each stage and who is holding it up cuts the calls asking what is happening.

Permits, HOAs and the utility

A city, an HOA and a utility each have their own forms and their own pace. Tracking each approval separately shows exactly where a project is stuck and who to chase.

Equipment lead times and substitutions

Panels, inverters and batteries can be delayed or swapped. Orders tied to signed designs, with a flag when a substitution needs the customer's approval, avoid surprises on install day.

Expectations set during the sale

Homeowners remember what they heard about savings and timing. Proposals that stick to the customer's own inputs, with the assumptions listed, and a clear route to the installer's own advisors keep sales honest.

Set up for the way you work

Not every solar installers business runs the same way. We adjust the setup to fit yours.

Residential rooftop installer
Many similar jobs with a standard pipeline. Volume, survey scheduling and permit tracking drive the setup.
Solar plus battery storage
Added design choices, backup-load decisions and more equipment lead time. Proposals compare options side by side and installs need more inspection steps.
Ground-mount and larger systems
Fewer, bigger projects with site work, engineering and sometimes separate interconnection steps. Schedules and billing look more like a construction project.
Commercial solar
Longer sales cycles, financing handled by the business and lender, and progress billing. Documents and approvals matter more than quick estimates.

Busy seasons and slow ones

Interest often rises in spring and summer, when electric bills climb and roofs are accessible, and again toward year end as people think about taxes. Winter weather, short days and rain can slow installs in some areas, and utilities and cities have their own backlogs. Slow stretches are a good time to push survey bookings, follow up on proposals, collect referrals from past customers and handle service tickets. Never promise a customer a utility approval date.

What your customers ask before they book

Your AI assistant and website are set up to answer these before anyone has to call.

  • What size system would my home need, based on my bill?
  • What are the equipment options, and what warranty comes with them?
  • What financing options are there, and who decides on approval?
  • How long do permits and the utility take, and what comes after install?
  • Do I need HOA approval, and can you help with the paperwork?
  • Who do I call if the system stops producing?

Common mistakes we help you avoid

  • Quoting savings or payback in the proposal instead of showing the estimate and its assumptions.
  • Telling a customer they qualify for an incentive or a loan before the right party has confirmed it.
  • Ordering equipment before the design, permit and signed contract are in place.
  • Overlooking local rules on licensing, interconnection, sales practices and financing disclosures. Rules vary, and the owner stays responsible.

Licensing, interconnection and sales rules vary

Contractor and electrical licensing, permit and utility interconnection requirements, HOA rules, sales-practice and door-to-door rules, consumer financing disclosures and incentive rules differ by state, utility and city. We build the estimate, proposal and tracker steps around your own licenses, lenders and disclosures. The AI assistant and site never promise savings, payback, incentive eligibility, tax credits, loan approval or an install or utility approval date they cannot confirm, and they give no tax or legal advice. You stay responsible for meeting the rules that apply to your sales and installs.
