Driving schools
Fill every lesson slot and keep every record straight.
A driving school runs on a tight puzzle of students, instructors and cars, plus paperwork that has to be right. We help families sign up and pick lesson times online, and we keep hours, courses, vehicles and completion records organized behind the scenes.
What we set up
Packages and sign-up that parents can finish
Teen and adult packages are listed with clear lesson counts. Parents sign up, give consent for a minor and pay a deposit or start a payment plan in one flow, and the student gets their own login.
Instructors, cars and lessons on one calendar
Each lesson books an instructor and a vehicle together, with pickup locations and reminders. Late cancels and no-shows follow your written policy, and open slots can be offered to a waitlist.
Hours, courses and records without the binder
Behind-the-wheel hours are logged per lesson, classroom or online course progress is tracked, and completion records are stored with each student. Parents can see hours done and hours remaining in a portal.
Where this business gets hard
Instructor and car conflicts
A lesson needs both a free instructor and a free car, and a car in the shop or a sick instructor breaks the day. Booking them together, with a swap list, keeps students from being cancelled at the last minute.
Late cancels and no-shows
An empty lesson slot is lost income for both the car and the instructor. A clear written policy, reminders and a waitlist that fills open slots protect the schedule without awkward phone calls.
Parents and minors
A parent has to sign, pay and stay informed, while the teen is the one actually driving. Consent on file, a parent view of hours and a student view of the schedule keep everyone on the same page.
Records that have to be right
Hours driven, classroom time and completion dates may need to be produced later. Logging each lesson as it happens, instead of rebuilding it from paper, makes records fast to find. Retention rules vary by state.
Set up for the way you work
Not every driving schools business runs the same way. We adjust the setup to fit yours.
- Teen programs
- Classroom or online course plus behind-the-wheel hours, with parent consent, progress for the parent and a firm schedule that works around school.
- Adult and new-to-the-US drivers
- Shorter packages, nervous beginners, sometimes language needs and quick turnaround before a road test. Pricing is usually by the lesson bundle.
- Road test prep and refreshers
- A single lesson or short pack, often in the school's car on or near the test route. The assistant should never promise a pass.
- Commercial or specialty training
- Different vehicles, different instructor requirements and different rules. Treat it as its own program with its own price list and records.
Busy seasons and slow ones
Demand spikes in summer and over school breaks, when teens have time and parents want hours done before the next school year. Weekday afternoons fill first during the school year, and winter can be quieter. Waitlists, early-morning and weekend slots and spring reminders to families with a teen who is about to turn driving age help smooth the year. Cars need more attention in peak months, so maintenance windows are worth planning ahead.
What your customers ask before they book
Your AI assistant and website are set up to answer these before anyone has to call.
- How many hours of driving are included, and how are they scheduled?
- Can my teen take the classroom part online?
- What happens if my child misses or cancels a lesson?
- Can I pay in installments?
- Will you pick up from school or home?
- Can we use your car for the road test?
Common mistakes we help you avoid
- Booking an instructor without checking that a car is free for the same lesson.
- Keeping hour logs on paper in the car, which are lost or hard to read later.
- Taking a minor's lesson without parent consent on file.
- Having no written cancellation policy, then absorbing the cost of every empty slot.
Licensing, curriculum and minors
State licensing, required curriculum and hours, instructor requirements, consent for minors and how long records must be kept all vary by state. We build the sign-up, hour log and record steps around the rules you tell us apply to your school. You stay responsible for meeting them, and nothing here is legal advice or a certification.
